Welcome to From Tyler, your local newsletter that, hopefully, feels like that first sip of coffee on a cool fall morning (we'll have a few of those soon!).
For years my wife has asked me... "how do we find out what's happening in Tyler?"
And for years, I said... "I don't know. But maybe someone should do something about that."
From Tyler is my long belated answer to that question.

East Texas State Fair adds a PRCA rodeo (Sept 19–21)
Saddle up! A PRCA-sanctioned rodeo rides into opening weekend at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Your rodeo ticket also gets you into the fair. VIP tickets even come with dinner and an open bar. 🐴 Read more

Tyler trims the tax rate (and passes a $219.3M budget)
The city lowered the property tax rate to $0.236452 per $100 — the lowest in years. Appraisals are up, though, so the average homeowner still sees about $32 more in property taxes for the year. Read more
Downtown detour + a slightly controversial facelift
Heads up, downtown drivers: part of College Ave is currently closed while crews remove (and preserve) some of the historic brick streets for the big downtown facelift. Read more
